Refine started out as Ilse Evertse Professional Writing, Editing & Translation Services. Over the past 30+ years the team, which later included several language specialists, built a formidable reputation for editing and translating academic texts from leading universities and business schools across Europe and beyond. The texts were mostly written by academics whose mother tongue is not English.

Following Ilse’s decision to shift from “go-go” to “go slow” in 2023, the business activities were repackaged as Refine, with the rest of the team maintaining the high standards and excellent service clients have come to know. In starting the new chapter, Refine’s language services have been extended beyond academic papers to include business and marketing content, providing full access to the vast industry experience our specialists have to offer.
